RogueScanner Tour

See how open source RogueScanner makes discovering what's on your network easy.

Step One: Discovery

Roguescanner_discovery

RogueScanner scans your network devices and collects device classification information such as IP and MAC address, what TCP and UDP ports are open, how the devices respond to common network requests, and the DNS or NetBIOS name used by the device. RogueScanner then uses this information to determine which discovered devices pose a risk.

  1. Discover all the devices on your network
  2. Identify and classify rogue devices

Step Two: Classification

Roguescanner_classification

RogueScanner automatically spiders your network and collects information from devices and sends this information to the classification server where they are matched against known sets of device characteristics in order to arrive at the best possible match. The database has been built on the more than 25,000 downloads and identifies over 800 different types of APs as well as nearly 10,000 other types of devices.

Step Three: Feedback

Roguescanner_feedback

Open source RogueScanner uses the Collaborative Device Classification system to automatically lookup and identify the device type and its identity in real time. RogueScanner users can provide their feedback to improve the classification results for the community using the system.
